Making Waves

August 2 – August 31, 2019

Opening Reception: Friday, August 2 from 5 pm to 7 pm

A single stone thrown into the water can create a ripple that affects the entire pond. Water is a sacred and often misused blessing, especially in the desert landscape of New Mexico. Come help us a make a splash this summer at our exhibit opening, and join the artists to take on what the meaning of water is to them.

The Making Waves exhibit will feature both freestanding and wall work from over 50 artists around the state. With 146 pieces submitted, and the artwork was meticulously selected by our panel of jurors; Cat Ozment, Stephanie Hagelberg, and Jeanne Hyland. From August 2 through August 31, visitors to the gallery will be able to see a variety of media depicting each artist’s interpretation of the theme. Some artists use water as the main medium in their artwork, and others chose to show what water means to them.
